This famous photo is titled “menacing eye” (Direct translation from Chinese title. Commonly known as: Stricken child crawling towards a food camp).
The photo depicts an African child stricken with illness and famine crawling towards a United Nations food camp, her frail body unable to support her larger head. There is a vulture on the side, eyeing the stricken child menacingly, and waiting patiently for the child to die. Because once the child’s life ends, the corpse will be the vulture’s feast.

My life after my retirement (2nd February 2008, 13:53:44)
My family has been the core of my life after my retirement. I’ve been accompanying mum ever since dad left. She had been very tough. Upon being by her side, I am really convinced by her spirit. That is why I hadn’t been online often lately. However, my friends who are concerned about me had been dropping me messages on my blog and some send me messages on my mobile phone. They want me to stand up and be strong. They want me to be by my mum’s side. Some of them even send me gifts. I’ve received many gifts and wishes and am really touched about it. I would like to thank all of you here.

Korea Open – I believe I was champion (28th January 2008, 23:19:46)
Long time since I came to see all of you. I had been busy with trainings and the recovery of my injuries earlier so I didn’t have the time to update. Thanks for being around.
I believe all of you have seen yesterday’s Korea Open finals. I was the center of attention again. Firstly, I hope that you will all understand me. I reacted such way because I couldn’t bear with Li Mao’s act. The whole thing was just like how all of you saw it. Actually we have already known that tournaments in Korea had always been like that these years, the judges are unfair. I was considering all that are possible to happen but I never expected things like this to happen. It was obvious that the linesmen were covering the Korean during the game – it was about 3 or 4 shots. Although I have reminded the umpire to be fair in his conclusions, the game was still affected by this problem in the end during the most important moment. When the Korean coach gave no reaction to this, Li Mao hurried out and said sarcastically, “He shall give all the points to you then!” Just then, I could not endure with his words.

The pictures are out (30th January 2008, 20:07:13)
Since I have the time today, I shall upload some photos. As the spokesman of CHD children’s hope, I went for a photo shoot session and took a series of photos for community publicity. Here are the snapshots. I’ve shoot TV commercials and print ads. Actually, it is really hard to be artists and athletes. Not many people will actually see what you have sacrificed and did behind your success. I felt that photo shooting is more tiring than playing badminton when I was in the studio.

Finally back in Beijing! (29th January 2008, 12:42:06)
It had been 2 months since I left Beijing. I miss my room in Beijing! I had been busy with trainings in Zhuhai and then went for two tournaments. We can’t come online during our training in Zhuhai so I can only come here to meet all of you now. I am really glad that I’ve won a title! This title is very important to us. No matter in points or in confidence, it is of a lot great help to us in our Olympic Games! A whole stretch of grouped trainings and tournaments just ended and I am feeling especially tired and I still have to prepare for our Chinese New Year performance. With that, I will be busy these days. Anyway, I will try to find some time to update. Thanks for all of your support for me!
