I have returned to Jinjiang, felt a little weird having not written here for a few days. Today, I’m writing mainly to share my feelings about being a father.

I haven’t written for the past few days; I am too blessed. Everyday, I will look at my son, and then carry him - it feels really different. But there’s an additional responsibility, when I’m holding him, I am happy yet worried at the same time. Happy because the child looks so much like me ^_^, and worried because I have to take care of him and have another person whom I will miss in the future.

Everybody must want to look at my son’s photos; he’s a really handsome boy. About the photos, I still can’t everyone yet; you will have to wait until he turns a month old before I will slowly post them up for you all to enjoy. Also, I wish that everyone will be here with me to watch him grow up.

Jinjiang (14th April 2008, 12:15)

I have spent a week here in Jinjiang, and this week caused me to miss home so badly that I want to go home. Why do I want to return home? Of course it’s to see my son. It’s 3 days to my wife’s birthday, the present is already prepared, will tell you what I have bought for her when the time comes.

I don’t know how my son is right now, I heard my wife say that his eyes grew bigger again. Haha, just like me. He sleeps during the day, but still creates trouble at night, always wanting to be carried, if not he will cry. Why are babies so troublesome? Haha, but I’m still happy. After his first month, I will ask my wife to send me photos of him daily; kids change very fast.

Yesterday, a few of our players went to Malaysia for the Asian Badminton Championships. After sending my teammates and fellow coaches off, I went for a haircut. I trimmed it, and I think it looks all right, makes me look perky and people said I look 10 years younger! Haha, stop dreaming.

Jinjiang (15th April 2008, 14:47)

Jinjiang – the base of the Chinese badminton team.

Jinjiang is my lucky place; it’s the place where I trained before, and it’s from here that I walked towards my dream of becoming a world champion.

Jinjiang – from one commercial street to plenty now, I don’t remember how to navigate anymore. When I was out on Sunday, I couldn’t find my way. I only recalled that there was a cinema and a sports garden – where we had body-strengthening trainings. Also, there was the visitor’s road, a road you need to pass through from the airport to the sports hall. I still remember that the lights on that road were very special, but now, you can already see special lights on the commercial street, I can only say that developments are quick, and the changes are major. I hope this city can bring good luck to the players who wish to get a gold medal and also to everyone here.

Lastly, I still want to wish the Chinese badminton team well. I hope those at the Asian Badminton Championships will be blessed to achieve good results, and claim the last berth for the Olympics.
