Two-time World Champion Ra Kyung-min gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Kim Han-wool. The picture at left appeared today on Kim Dong-moon's mini-homepage, and shows Ra with baby Han-wool, being watched over by yet another badminton player, Yoo Eun-young. Han-wool was born in Calgary in the afternoon of July 15th.

Ra joined Kim Dong-moon in Canada - where he is currently studying as well as volunteering at the Calgary Winter Club - earlier this year after the two spent virtually all of the first 14 months of their marriage living apart. At the time, she left her coaching positions at the Korean national team and at her Daegyo Noonnopi professional team and she has said that she will not be involved in badminton for several years.
Unfortunately, those hoping for an heir to this badminton royalty will very likely be disappointed. In February, Ra told Sports World magazine that she would never let her son choose a career in badminton. However, at the same time, she allowed that that door might be open for a daughter. |
