I’m so sorry for not coming here to chat for such a long time, because I am too blissful recently, and busy at the same time. I am also not very willing to share, as I want to enjoy it first. Maybe some of you heard about it, but for those who haven’t, there’s a new addition to the Xia family, and I’ve been promoted to become a father. So you see, aren’t I blissful? Now let me share my feelings with everyone, and also to let my fans help me remember that special day, time, and moment.
26th March, I attended Chen Hong’s wedding ceremony, and was preparing to return to Jinjiang the next day at 9am. On the car, I even messaged my wife and asked her to tell me when she’s about to deliver the baby. Then I went to talk to Zhang Jun and the rest about this day. Around noon, my phone rang, it was my wife; she told me that her water bag burst, and whatever she said after that I couldn’t remember. When I heard that, my head started to swell from excitement, felt dizzy and my mind went blank. The clear-headed onlookers then kept giving suggestions. In the end, I decided to go straight to the airport to catch a plane back to Wenzhou to see my son.
My son – born on March 27 2008, time, 6 in the evening, weighs 3.3kg, length 50cm, he has double eyelids now, and resembles me! Haha. His name is Xia Jiayi (夏家熠).
I have been accompanying my wife these few days, can’t help but feel that my wife is so great, she had a smooth delivery and is recovering well too. Don’t miss me, I will post photos up for everyone during this period of time!

Time passes really fast, Jiayi is changing rapidly. I have to carry and look at him every day, when the small guy opens his eyes and looks at you, the feeling is really wonderful. Even though he can’t see clearly as yet, his eyes are pretty huge, just like mine when I was young, big with double eyelids.
Today, the small guy is a little mischievous, he wouldn’t sleep after he has eaten his full, and wanted me to carry him, so tiring! He stopped crying when I carried him. When I return home, the first thing I do is to take two looks at him. Giving birth to a child is very labourious, so I must thank my wife.
Although I am at home, I am still very concerned about the Indian Open. Tonight, Lu Lan will play Zhou Mi, the only thing to look at now is their last minute performance. We must place the shuttle at a place best to attack our opponent. Our men’s doubles pair did well by defeating the Korean duo. We must work hard and get the champion’s trophy! It was too bad for the men’s singles players though, especially Chen Jin, yet again placed himself on a dead route. We didn’t send any team for the women’s doubles event. In the mixed doubles, we attacked our way into the finals and to triumph over our opponents in the finals, we need to attack them.
That’s all for today, will continue when I’m free.
