Australia stunned New Zealand in the final of the Thomas and Uber Cup Qualifying stage, scooping their ticket - the only one for Oceania -for the Thomas and the Uber Cup Final to be held in May in Malaysia.  The Thomas Cup squad had hardly any trouble, beating New Zealand 5/0 in the final, while the Australian girls won too but with much greater difficulties with a final 3/2 success.
